TMINPUT Data Set

The TMINPUT data set is a stand-alone file containing all the necessary data to build the output record requested. The data in this file must be positional. The fields that are to be used in the file must be described to TMSCONVR through the SYSIN data set.

Field and data are bypassed if the field contains only blanks, binary zeros or packed zeros.

Duplicate records are not allowed. A record is considered a duplicate if the following fields are equivalent to corresponding fields in another record:

• VOLSER (volume serial number) for TMSUPDTE output format and TMRECORD output format.
• DSN (data set name) and CJOB (creating job name) combination for TMSEXPDT output format. If the data set names are not qualified by a creating job name, duplicate data set names are not allowed.

If more than one physical record makes up one logical record, this must be indicated to TMSCONVR by use of the TMINPUT= parameter.
