Address Space Resources

The Virtual Resource Management facility lets you control the execution of a job based on the active or inactive status of an address space. For example, assume that JOBA requires that a CICS region is active for the job to be submitted. During the job submission cycle, CA WA CA 7 Edition checks to see if the CICS region is active before submitting the job. If the region is not active, the job waits in the ready queue with a status of W-RSRC. The job waits until the address space becomes active. This check occurs during every CA WA CA 7 Edition submission cycle unless the enhanced submission selection feature (SUBSEL=ENH) is active, in which case the check occurs at most once per minute. The same process occurs for a job connected to an address space resource that requires that the address space is inactive. The address space resource requirement is only valid on the host CPU where CA WA CA 7 Edition is executing.
