The following list describes all CA Workload Automation AE job actions:
Starts the job if the dependencies starting conditions are met. This action ignores date/time starting conditions, but it does not ignore dependencies starting conditions. Choosing this option is equal to sending a STARTJOB event.
Forces a job to start, regardless of whether any of the starting conditions are met for the selected jobs. Choosing this option is equal to sending a FORCE_STARTJOB event.
Kills the selected job. Choosing this option is equal to sending a KILLJOB event, and its action depends on the job type and the type of machine (UNIX or Windows) on which the job is running.
Places the selected job on hold, which means it cannot be started. You cannot place a job on hold if it has a STARTED or RUNNING status. Choosing this option is equal to sending a JOB_ON_HOLD event.
Takes the selected job off hold. If you choose this option and the selected job meets the starting conditions, the job starts. Choosing this option is equal to sending a JOB_OFF_HOLD event.
Places the selected job on ice, which is the functional equivalent of deactivating the job definition. You cannot place a job on ice if it has a STARTED or RUNNING status. Choosing this option is equal to sending a JOB_ON_ICE event.
Takes the selected job off ice, which is the functional equivalent of reactivating the job definition. When you take a job off ice, it starts the next time it meets the starting conditions. Choosing this option is equal to sending a JOB_OFF_ICE event.
Places the job in no execution, which means it will not be executed as scheduled. This action bypasses the job but still allows downstream dependent jobs to run. Choosing this option is equal to sending an ON_NOEXEC event.
Takes the selected job off no execution, which means the job is scheduled to execute in the next run. Choosing this option is equal to sending an OFF_NOEXEC event.
Releases the resources that are being held by a terminated job. This is applicable only to renewable resources that have been defined with the FREE=N attribute.
