Add an Agent Plug-in

You can add an agent plug-in to work with CA Workload Automation AE. After the agent plug-in is added, you can automate, monitor, and manage workload on the computer where that plug-in and its agent are installed.

Note: You can also add an agent plug-in using the agentparm.txt file. You must ensure that you install the agent plug-in before you add it.

The Plug-in List pane on the Agent - CA Workload Automation AE Administrator window lists the agent plug-ins that are currently used by the local agent.

Follow these steps:

  1. Click Start, Programs, CA, Workload Automation AE, Administrator.

    The Instance - CA Workload Automation AE Administrator window opens.

  2. Click the Services icon on the toolbar.

    The Services - CA Workload Automation AE Administrator window appears.

  3. Right-click the agent and select Stop.

    The agent stops.

  4. Click the Agent icon on the toolbar.

    The Agent - CA Workload Automation AE Administrator window appears.

  5. Select the local agent to which you want to add an agent plug-in from the Local Agent Name drop-down list.

    The Agent - CA Workload Automation AE Administrator window displays the settings of the selected local agent.

  6. Right-click in the Plug-in List pane, and click New.

    The CA WAAE Administrator - Plugin Settings dialog appears.

  7. Enter the agent plug-in name in the Name field, and click OK.

    The CA WAAE Administrator - Plugin Settings dialog closes. The new agent plug-in is listed in the Plug-in List pane.

  8. Click Apply.
  9. Click the Services icon on the toolbar.

    The Services - CA Workload Automation AE Administrator window appears.

  10. Right-click the agent and select Start.

    The agent starts. A new agent plug-in is added.
