Reason:
At least one DEV (device) record must appear in the STAM parameter file. Shared Tape Allocation Manager (STAM) initialization aborts. If the VMTAPE CONFIG file specifies STAM AUTO, CA VM:Tape initialization also fails.
Action:
Ask the CA VM:Tape system administrator to add the appropriate DEV record or records to the STAM parameter file. The chapter on the STAM facility in the Administration Guide gives a description of the STAM parameter file. When the problem is corrected, start STAM again and, if necessary, start CA VM:Tape again.
