Generate the VM CP Nucleus

The following steps describe the CP system generation procedure:

  1. Prepare for Local Service

    LOGON to the ID you use for applying service to the CP component of your VM system (usually MAINT) and establish the VMFSETUP search order for that component.

  2. Access the minidisk or SFS directory containing the HCPxxx TEXT files generated in the previous section. Issue the following VMSES command to copy each TEXT file to your CP LOCALMOD disk, substituting the name of each TEXT file generated by VMXCPG:
    VMFREPL HCPxxx TEXT ppf cmp = TEXT fm ( “Options”
    

    Options:

    $SELECT LOGMOD modid OUTMODE LOCALMOD
    
    ppf

    Specifies the name of the Product Parameter File (PPF). The file type is PPF.

    cmp

    Specifies the VMSES/E component name for your CP component (usually "CP" or "CPSFS").

    fm

    Specifies the filemode containing the TEXT files created by VMXCPG

    modid

    Specifies LX followed by three alphanumeric characters indicating the CA VM:Secure version and release. For example, for Release 3.1, modid would be LX031.

  3. Rebuild objects.

    For the Rules Facility, the only component that needs to be regenerated (rebuilt) is the CP Nucleus. You can ignore steps that rebuild any other component (object) type.
