Define the ACI Exit Parameters

You configure the ACI Exit routines by creating a file named VMXRPI CONFIG. The various statements in that file are documented in VMXRPI Configuration File Reference. A sample version of this file, containing recommended parameter values, is supplied in the product installation materials. To access this sample file, use the following steps:

  1. Logon to the CA VM Mainframe Product Manager installation user ID (usually VMANAGER).
  2. Establish the product search order by issuing the command:
    VMFSETUP ppfname component ( LINK

    ppfname

    component

Specifies the name of the Product Parameter file as documented in the CA VM:Secure Installation Guide for this release of CA VM:Secure. If you have overridden the PPF file name, specify the PPF Override file name.

  3. Copy the VMXRPI XCONFIG file from the product LOCALSAM minidisk or SFS directory in this search order to the A disk.

Whether you create the VMXRPI CONFIG file from scratch, or start with the provided sample definitions, we recommend that you examine each parameter definition for applicability to your environment. The values provided in the sample file are intended to be compatible with previous releases of CA VM:Secure. Newer capabilities, such as password phrase support or rules for network interface access, will require you to specify your intent to use those capabilities by adding new statements to the VMXRPI CONFIG file.
