When CA VM:Secure is down, for example as in a disaster recovery situation, you can have VM:Secure use the LOGONBY statement in the CP directory to allow access to shared virtual machines.

Examples
Joan creates the following rule in her user rules file:
ACCEPT FRED LOGONBY
You can then log on to the JOAN user ID by following this procedure:
Rules evaluation occurs at this point, and the software searches for an ACCEPT LOGONBY rule that covers the user ID JOAN. If such a rule is found, you are prompted for your password.
You are then granted access to the user ID JOAN. However, if you do not enter your password or enter it incorrectly, you are denied access.
