Create a Log Message for Members of Your Security Group

You are the SALES security group manager, and you want to send a message to your security group, SALES, reminding them to attend a meeting at 10:00 a.m. each day for the next three days.

  1. To create a logon message through CA VM:Secure for the members of security group SALES, enter the following:
    vmsecure logmsg sales
    

    This command puts you in XEDIT. Enter input mode, then type the message you want to send, for example:

    Attention SALES members! Don’t forget the training sessions
    Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday this week at 10:00.
    
  2. Save your changes and exit the file.

    The system responds as follows:

    FILE ‘SALES LOGMSG A1’ WAS CREATED
    
  3. When there is no longer a need for the logon message, you can remove it by entering the following command:
    vmsecure logmsg sales (erase
