VMTAPE MOUNT Rule

Because DIANEC and LILITHS work on the same project, LILITHS allows DIANEC to mount her tapes. She created the following user rule:

ACCEPT DIANEC VMTAPE MOUNT

Whenever DIANEC wants to mount LILITHS’s tapes, she must give the tape data set name and the password. (Remember, your site has a policy that all tapes must be protected by passwords.) DIANEC issues the following command to mount LILITHS’s tape, ONX001:

vmtape mount onx001 dsn emerald (read password topaz

CA VM:Tape responds as follows:

MOUNT ‘181’ REQUEST ACCEPTED

Because of your site’s restrictions about passwords, LILITHS did not take advantage of the NOPASS and LOGPASS options on rules. The NOPASS option would have allowed DIANEC to mount the tape without specifying the set name or the password. The LOGPASS option would have required that DIANEC enter her logon password when mounting the tape.
