Now suppose, for security reasons, your site requires a system default rule stating that when no other rule is found, users are prevented from spooling and transferring files to each other. To create this rule, an authorized user issues the following command:
vmsecure rules system (default
In the default system rules file, the rule looks like this:
REJECT * SPOOL
To allow REBECCAH to spool files to you, you can override the system default rule by creating your own user rule. If, for example, you want to override the system default rule until 5 p.m. on a given mm/dd/yy and allow REBECCAH to spool and transfer files to you, enter the following in your rules file:
ACCEPT REBECCAH SPOOL (EXPIRE mm/dd/yy 16:59:59
No one other than REBECCAH will be able to spool or transfer files to you, because the system default rule is still operative and explicitly prevents this.
