Sometimes you might need to see a history log of other users’ attempts to access your user ID or minidisks. For example, if you need to know when someone other than ROSEY, NICKT, or a member of security group SALES attempts to link in a read–only mode to your 191 minidisk, you could use the following rules:

The HISTORY option in the second rule specifies that every time a user attempts to link read‑only to your 191 minidisk and is rejected, a history special comment is added to your directory entry. In this case, you want to know about the read‑only link requests that are rejected.
Note: If there is a higher‑level rule (with or without the HISTORY option) for the request, the higher‑level rule is used.
