Creating Security Groups

To create a security group, put a GROUP record in the SECURITY CONFIG file to define the security group and, optionally, the security group manager. Include a GROUP record for each security group.

Note: Do not use SYSTEM as the name of a security group. To do so can cause unpredictable results.

For example, you want to create security group PUBS and make DIANEC the security group manager. (This example assumes that DIANEC is also defined as a directory manager in the VMSECURE MANAGERS file. For information about defining a directory manager, see the Administration Guide.)

1. Enter the following:

   vmsecure config security
   

2. Add the GROUP record:

   GROUP PUBS DIANEC
   

3. File to save the changes.
