Changing the Names of Directory Entries

You can change the name of any directory entry you manage, and you will be the manager of this new directory entry.

CA VM:Director maintains all minidisk links and rules (CA VM:Secure only) from the old to the new directory entry name: any directory links to the old directory entry minidisks become links to the new directory entry minidisks; any rules for the old user ID become rules for the new user ID.

Use the CHANGE command to change the name of a directory entry without losing its minidisk links or rules (CA VM:Secure only). For example, to change directory entry FRASIERC to LILITHS, enter the following:

vmdirect change frasierc liliths

Note: For more information about and requirements for using the CHANGE command, see the Reference Guide.
