CA VM:Backup has its own operating system that relies on CP and coexists with CMS. CA VM:Backup performs its own disk, tape, and unit record virtual I/O, and its own virtual storage management. This self-management provides an environment that allows for fast disk and tape I/O, and enhanced security and maintainability.
