Restoring Files

To restore files from an encrypted minidisk or directory, follow these steps:

  1. On the file selection screen, type r next to an ** Encrypted ** descriptor for the minidisk or directory you want to restore. You can make only one selection on this screen. CA VM:Backup displays the Restore From an Encrypted Backup screen.
  2. Type the security key used to encrypt the data when it was backed up. When you correctly enter the security key, CA VM:Backup displays the Restore Files by File Name screen.
  3. Type the filenames in the Filename column and the filetypes in the Filetype column of the individual files you want to restore. You can use pattern-matching characters.

Note: For more information about the Restore Files by File Name screen, see Restoring CMS Files With No Detail Information.

  4. Press PF9 (Submit) to submit your request.

When you have entered the file names of the files you want to restore, CA VM:Backup displays the Restore Files to Reader, Minidisk, or Directory screen.
