Restoring CMS Files to a Reader
To restore CMS files to your own virtual reader or another user ID's virtual reader, follow these steps:
- By default, your user ID is displayed in the Userid field on the Restore Files to Reader, Minidisk, or Directory screen, and CA VM:Backup restores the files to your virtual reader. If you want CA VM:Backup to restore the files to another user ID's virtual reader, type the user ID to which you want the files to be restored in the Userid field.
- Type 1 on the command line.
- Press ENTER to submit the request to CA VM:Backup. After processing the request, CA VM:Backup sends the files to the specified user ID's virtual reader.
Note: When you restore files backed up from an SFS directory to a reader, CA VM:Backup restores only the files. CA VM:Backup cannot restore authorizations or aliases to a virtual reader.
