Update Remote Agent with a Single Server

If you changed the only server that a remote agent uses and the server belongs to the Default Agent Group, update the remote agent to redirect to the new server.

Follow these steps:

  1. Stop the remote agent.
  2. Open the Administrative UI.
  3. Navigate to Administration, Log Collection.
  4. Expand Agent Explorer, Default Agent Group, and select the remote agent.
  5. Click the Delete icon in the right pane and confirm the deletion.
  6. Log on to the remote agent machine and navigate to the agent bin folder.
  7. Execute the following command to redirect the remote agent to the new server:
    agentconfig -redirectagent -server <new_UARM_server_hostname> -authcode <authentication_key>
    
    new_UARM_server_hostname

    Specifies the hostname of the new CA User Activity Reporting Module server.

    authentication key

    Specifies the authentication key of the remote agent to communicate with CA User Activity Reporting Module.

  8. Verify that all the agent processes are running.
