How Data Integrity Checks on Raw Events Works

To perform data integrity checks on raw events, enable the Enable Raw Event Signature Generation option. Enabling this option adds a value to the column rawevent_signature of each received raw event.

When a raw event is generated, CA User Activity Reporting Module performs one of the following steps:

Note: Events received using the previous releases of CA User Activity Reporting Module do not contain the rawevent_signature column.

To verify that databases do not contain a mix of events with and without raw event signatures, CA User Activity Reporting Module performs the following tasks whenever you switch the Enable Raw Event Signature Generation option:

  1. Stops the iGateway.
  2. Appends the existing raw databases to the hot databases.
  3. Moves the existing hot databases for archival.

Note: As CA User Activity Reporting Module moves an existing hot database when you switch, the size of the archived database may vary from the configured database size.

  4. Starts the iGateway.
