Configuring Collectors in Microsoft OCS 2007 Environments

A collector is a component of a UC Monitor deployment. Collectors gather call performance information and send it to the management console for analysis and reporting.

The built-in collector is not used in a UC Monitor system for monitoring a Microsoft Office Communications Server (OCS) 2007 or 2007 R2 deployment. Instead, you prepare QoE Monitoring Servers or front-end servers to act as collectors. You then configure these servers to recognize the management console as the report recipient.

This document describes how a UC Monitor administrator configures a collection device in an OCS 2007 environment. In the following diagram, the separate servers are server roles that can be installed on one computer.
