CA provides a utility that you can use to configure UC Monitor as the report recipient. The utility, QMSConfig.exe, is installed in the following directory on the management server computer:
<install path>\ca\VoIPMonitor\bin
During configuration, the utility reads from Active Directory to find the front-end servers or QoE monitoring servers. The utility then accesses the QMS components on each server and modifies the External Consumer URL to identify UC Monitor as the report recipient.
The utility configures parameters for the export of quality metrics using the WMI MSFT_SIPQMSExternalConsumer singleton class.
Tip: The utility does not provide a way to undo the changes it makes. Make a note of existing External Consumer URL settings on the front-end and QoE monitoring servers before running the utility. If necessary, you can revert to these settings.
Follow these steps:
The Collector Configuration Utility window opens.
The DNS domain information helps the management console locate the target Microsoft servers when the management console server is not situated within the Microsoft domain. If you do not know the domain of the Microsoft server itself, any domain in the same forest is sufficient, due to Active Directory replication.
The Servers or Pools pane displays a list of servers that are eligible to be configured as collection devices.
The Current configuration and New configuration panes appear in the window.
Client certificates are not supported. A certificate must be configured on the management console. The certificate server and serial number must already be set on the Microsoft server.
The Microsoft server sends call quality reports continually, as they arrive from the endpoints. However, during busy hours, multiple call quality reports can arrive simultaneously. In such a case, the server compiles them into batches before posting them.
Connectivity issues can prevent the server from posting data to the report consumer. The server buffers call quality reports, up to the limit set here, before discarding data. The default is 50000 KB.
The settings are sent to the Microsoft server. When the configuration is successful, data is sent to the management console for display in reports. In addition, the name of the collection device appears in the Collection Device List.
