Install MSMQ on the Front-End Server

The front-end server or Standard Edition server receives call quality reports from the endpoints and forwards them to the management console. Therefore, install MSMQ to enable the HTTP Report Provider service on the server.

The HTTP Report Provider service cannot start unless the Microsoft Message Queuing Service (MSMQ) is installed on the front-end or Standard Edition server. This service is not installed by default. However, it is included with the operating system and can be installed from the Control Panel.

The server must be a member of a Windows Authorization Access group. This membership lets the server authenticate users in a Windows Server 2008 Active Directory domain or a Windows Server 2003 domain. Set the privacy level to either Body or Optional (the default).

The following instructions are for Windows Server 2008.

Follow these steps:

  1. Log in to the server with a user account that is a member of the Administrators group.
  2. Click Start, Programs, Administrative Tools, Server Manager.
  3. Click the Features icon in the Server Manager tree.
  4. Click Add Features.
  5. Expand Message Queuing, and then expand Message Queuing Services.
  6. Select the following Message Queuing features:
  7. Click Next.
  8. Click Install.
  9. If you are prompted to restart the computer, click OK to complete the installation.
