RESCODE MISSING, INVALID, OR RESERVED
Reason:
- In CA Top Secret 5.2, RESCODE is not required: CA Top Secret will assign the next unused value eligible for user assignment. If all available RESCODE values have already been assigned, this message indicates that the only available RESCODE values are reserved for CA Top Secret system defined resources.
- You have entered a hexadecimal value for RESCODE which contains:
more than 3 hexadecimal digits (nibbles)
an invalid character for a hexadecimal number
a hexadecimal value which is ineligible for a user‑defined resource
Action:
- If all eligible user RESCODE values have been exhausted, you will have to determine if assigned user RESCLASSes are all actively being used. If you find a RESCLASS that can be deleted, you will have to revoke existing permissions and remove existing ownership relations for the related resources. Such a resource may then be removed from the RDT, and its associated RESCODE will be available for the new resource class you require.
- If an invalid RESCODE value has been supplied, re‑enter the command with a valid RESCODE value. The available values of RESCODE eligible for user assignment are:
001 ‑ 03F (RIE)
101 ‑ 13F (PIE)
101 ‑ 13F (PIE)
For an explanation of the differences between RIE and PIE resource classes, see the User Guide.
