Introduction

This guide provides instructions for the operation of the CA Vantage Windows Client (Windows Client) and CA SRM Windows Client (Windows Client), the common Windows GUI for managing your storage with:

CA SRM - for distributed systems
CA Vantage - for z/OS systems
CA Vantage GMI qualified products - for z/OS systems. GMI is the Graphical Management Interface component of CA Vantage used by several other CA products. It is provided free of charge to customers licensed for the qualified products.

This chapter provides an overview of the Windows Client itself, the products using this Windows Client, Open Systems hosts, z/OS hosts, User Views, available objects, and automation wizards.

Note: The term Windows refers to the Microsoft Windows operating systems: Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 2000, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, Windows Server 2003, and Windows Server 2008. Unless specifically designated, Windows refers to any of the above Microsoft Windows operating systems.
