CA Vantage GMI

The primary user interface to CA Vantage is the Windows Client. With the Windows Client you access the basic z/OS server functions that support the client requests. The Graphical Management Interface (GMI) uses both of these: the PC clients and the z/OS server support. Together, this subset of CA Vantage is referred to as CA Vantage GMI.

Note: All orders for the CA Vantage base product (with or without additional options) include CA Vantage GMI. That is, it is included with all CA Vantage product licenses. Therefore customers who order or have already installed the base product should not order or install CA Vantage GMI separately.

A separate order and installation of CA Vantage GMI is available only if you satisfy both of the following conditions:

You are not licensed for the CA Vantage base product.
You are licensed for one of the “qualifying CA products”, which are:
- CA 1
- CA ASTEX
- CA CREWS
- CA Datacom/DB
- CA Disk
- CA Encryption Key Manager
- CA IDMS/DB
- CA MasterCat
- CA PDSMAN
- CA SYSVIEW
- CA TLMS

Regardless of the licensing method, CA Vantage GMI provides the graphical management interface for viewing and analysis of the following objects and CA Vantage services:
