Registering an LDAP Server
Prior to LDAP registration for Novell servers, you need to export or install the Novell Directory Services (NDS) Server Certificate on the Application Server machine. There are three ways to do this:
- Write a program. You can find the instructions for this at the Novell developer site.
- Use the iManager (a Novell component). Consult your Novell documentation for instructions.
- Use Open Console One:
- Install Novell Client and NICI Client on a Windows machine.
- Open Console One, browse to the certificate object in the tree.
- Select Certificates/Trusted Root tab on the Property page.
- Click the Export button. For the Do you want to export the private key with the certificate option, click No and then click Next. You can rename the file to a shorter name if you want. Click Next and then Finish.
- Copy the file to the machine where you need to install it.
- Double-click the copied file in the Windows explorer to open the certificate viewer.
- Choose the option to install certificate. Make sure that you install this certificate into the “Trusted Root Certification Authorities” Store.
