Advanced settings: Trend Consolidation and Daily Consolidation

The Advanced button on the Settings dialog accesses the Trend Configuration dialog, which contains both the Trend Consolidation tab and Daily Consolidation tab.

The trend data points are consolidated within a region into the following three data points: Average, Minimum, and Maximum. They are represented as A, N, and X respectively, in the TrendType field of the trend table. The three data points are defined as follows:

There will be cases where the consolidation includes consolidated as well as unconsolidated data points. For calculating averages, all data points that are either unconsolidated (TrendType = "") or previous consolidated averages (TrendType = A or N or X ) are considered.

Important! In a target consolidation region–whether it is a day, week, month or quarter–the minimum number of data points required are four. If there are less than four data points, the data is left as it is and not consolidated. These data points are then accounted for in the next higher level consolidation stage.
