Scheduler Components

The Scheduler consists of the following parts:

Scheduler - Manages scheduled tasks.
Output executor - OAExec.exe—executes output actions.
Collector - HDExec.exe - collects historical data from hosts to the local trend database (z/OS only).
Maintenance - MTExec.exe - maintains the trend databases and the log file.

These parts work independently in the background.

The OAExec.exe connects to the host, receives the data, prepares the reports, sends the reports to destinations, and then closes itself.

The HDExec.exe connects to the host, receives the data, updates the trend databases, and closes itself.

The MTExec.exe consolidates the trend data, compacts the trend database, and closes itself.
