The Windows Client

The Windows Client is a graphical user interface running under Windows on a PC workstation. It brings the functionality of the CA SRM, CA Vantage SRM, and CA Vantage GMI products to the PC user. The Windows Client enhances your storage management abilities on distributed networks and z/OS systems in the following areas:

Analyzing storage
Planning and forecasting
Defining constructs
Automating policies
Measuring effectiveness
Modeling changes
Performing on‑demand operations
Troubleshooting
Recovering from hardware errors
Scheduling system management tasks

Note: The Windows Client uses Central and Database folders and subfolders. Users should be granted with full control to these folders to be able to operate the Windows Client correctly. This full control should be granted to the user ID regardless if these folders are located on a local machine or on a server.
