User Directory Dialog—LDAP Namespace

When you select the LDAP option from the NameSpace drop-down list, the Directory Setup tab of the User Directory Dialog provides fields for configuring a connection to an existing LDAP-compliant user store.

At the top of the dialog, complete the following fields:

Name field

Name of the new user directory connection object. This is the name that will be used in the Policy Server User Interface to see the user store.

Note: To maintain single sign-on in a SiteMinder environment that includes multiple policy stores, use the same user directory name when you define a directory connection. For example, if you have an LDAP user directory connection called LDAP1 which you configured in Policy Store A, and you have a second policy store called Policy Store B, to maintain single sign-on, you must configure the connection in Policy Store B using the name LDAP1.

Description field

(Optional) A brief description of the user directory connection.
