User Directory Dialog—AD Namespace

Configuring an Active Directory connection using the AD namespace is very similar to configuring a connection using the LDAP namespace.

Note: The AD namespace does not support multi-byte character sets. To use a multi-byte character set with Active Directory, configure your directory connection using the LDAP namespace.

At the top of the dialog, complete the following fields:

Name field

Name of the new Active Directory connection.

Note: To maintain single sign-on in a SiteMinder environment that includes multiple policy stores, use the same user directory name when you define a directory connection. For example, if you have an AD user directory connection called AD1 which you configured in Policy Store A, and you have a second policy store called Policy Store B, to maintain single sign-on, you must configure the connection in Policy Store B using the name AD1.

Description field

(Optional) A brief description of the user directory connection.
