Configure a Global Response

When you configure a global response, you must create the response in the Global Response Properties dialog, then add response attributes to the response.

Note: When you create or modify a Policy Server object in the Policy Server User Interface, use ASCII characters. Object creation or modification with non-ASCII characters is not supported.

To configure a global response

  1. Log into the Policy Server User Interface.
  2. In the Object pane, click on the Global Policies tab.
  3. Click on the Global Responses icon.

  4. From the Edit menu, select Create Response.

    The Global Response dialog opens.

  5. In the Name field, enter the name of the new global response.
  6. Optionally, in the Description field, enter a description for the new global response.
  7. Select a SiteMinder Agent type from the drop-down list in the Agent Type group box.

Your choices are Web Agent, Affiliate Agent, EJB Agent, or Servlet Agent. Select the Agent type to which the response must pass information.

  8. Click Apply to save your changes.

You can now add response attributes to your response. See the next section for details about adding response attributes for each Agent type.
