User Directory Dialog—Custom Namespace—Credentials and Connection Tab
In the Credentials and Connection tab for a custom user directory, you can:
- Specify whether or not credentials are required for user directory access. If credentials are required for access to the custom directory, you must provide the Policy Server with the appropriate credentials in the Administrator Credentials group box.
- Indicate whether or not SiteMinder should provide a Windows user security context for accessing Web applications on IIS Web servers. Providing a windows users security context enables the IIS server to enforce Windows access mechanisms.
- Specify whether or not the Policy Server uses a secure connection (SSL) to connect to the user directory.
You can specify the following:
- Require Credentials check box
-
If selected, administrator credentials will be used to connect to the custom user directory.
- Username field
-
If Require Credentials is selected, defines the username of an administrator for the custom user directory. This is the username the Policy Server uses when connecting to the custom directory.
- Password and Confirm Password field
-
Define the password for the privileged account specified in the Username field.
- Run in Authenticated User’s Security Context check box
-
(Optional) Enables SiteMinder to provide a Windows user security context to Web applications that run on IIS Web servers and are protected by SiteMinder.
- Secure Connection check box
-
(Optional) Forces a Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) connection when the Policy Server and LDAP user directory communicate with each other.
Note: For SSL connections, make sure that you have specified the location of the certificate database file in the Policy Server Management Console (see the SiteMinder Policy Server Management Guide).
