Test HP Service Manager Integration

After you have completed all previous steps, you can test the functionality of the CA Process Automation HP Service Manager Gateway. This procedure describes how you manually create a test HP Service Manager incident from CA Process Automation to test the configuration.

Note: For more information about using the Gateway to create incidents in CA SOI, see Using the HP Service Manager Integration (Using the BMC Remedy Integration, Using the HP Service Manager Integration).

Follow these steps:

  1. Expand CA SM Gateway and Simulators, right-click on CreateTestTicket in the User Requests pane of the CA Process Automation Management Console, and select Start Request.

The process starts and the request displays on the Start Request Instances pane.

  2. Click Refresh.

A State value of Completed indicates a successful HP Service Manager connection and incident creation.

  3. Click Default Process Watch in the left pane and click Ended Instances.

A list of currently ended processes displays in the Ended Instances pane.

  4. Right-click the process that has the same start time as when you ran the test process and select Process Dataset.

A pane opens on the right with a list of parameters.

If the request failed, scroll to the errorMessage field for an explanation of why the request failed.

  5. Scroll to the bottom of the pane.

The troubleTicket field contains a valid HP Service Manager incident ID, and the ticketWebURL field contains a URL.

  6. Copy the URL into a web browser.

An HP Service Manager Login page opens.

  7. Enter valid credentials and click Log In.

The created test ticket Incident Request page opens.
