Complete the Prerequisites
Complete the following prerequisites so that you can install or upgrade CA Service Catalog in silent mode:
- General prerequisites
- Verify that you have reviewed and followed the instructions in the Prepare to Install or Upgrade CA Service Catalog scenario. This scenario explains the preparation tasks for installing or upgrading CA Service Catalog and provides guidelines to determine your system architecture.

- If you are installing CA Service Catalog, complete the installation prerequisites.

- Prerequisites for the properties files
- Prerequisites for performing the installation
- If a properties file contains errors, or if the target computer does not meet the requirements (for example, the system requirements), the silent installation aborts silently. Therefore, prepare for and verify silent installations carefully.
- Typically, installation is a one-time task that administrators perform using either the UI installation or the silent installation, but not both. However, if a silent installation fails, you can update the values in the properties files and can retry the installation. Moreover, you can also rename the properties files back to installer_template.properties and config_template.properties, and use the UI installation instead.
