Meet the Prerequisites

Meet these prerequisites before you install or upgrade CA Service Catalog. Unless otherwise noted, all prerequisites apply to both new installations and upgrades.

Follow these steps:

  1. Verify that you have reviewed and followed the instructions in the Prepare to Install or Upgrade CA Service Catalog scenario. This scenario explains the preparation tasks for installing or upgrading CA Service Catalog and provides guidelines to determine your system architecture.

    Note: The Prepare to Install or Upgrade CA Service Catalog scenario is in the Implementation Guide and on http://ca.com/support.

  2. Decide whether to perform a traditional or migration model upgrade.
  3. Verify that the computers on which you plan to install CA Service Catalog meet the system requirements. For best performance, we recommend that you do not install CA Service Catalog on the same computer as your SQL Server server or Oracle server.

  4. Record the following data for the base files that you install on every CA Service Catalog computer. The installation program prompts you to provide this data.
