Install or Upgrade CA EEM

Install or upgrade to CA EEM Release 12.51 on one or more computers. You can optionally install, upgrade, and cluster multiple instances of CA EEM.

Follow these steps:

  1. Verify that you have reviewed the installation requirements and considerations for CA EEM.
  2. Download the CA EEM Release 12.51 installation files from http://ca.com/support.
  3. Unzip the files and run the EXE file for your environment (32‑bit or 64‑bit).

The wizard guides you through the process of installing or upgrading CA EEM.

  4. (New Installations Only) Enter the value of the EiamAdmin password that you want to use, when prompted.

    Record this password for reference.

  5. (New Installations Only) When you are prompted for the Java Home directory, leave the value empty and click Skip, unless you plan to do one or both of the following tasks:

If you plan to perform either of these tasks, enter the complete path name of your Java Runtime Environment (JRE) installation.

Note: CA EEM and CA Service Catalog each installs and uses its own JRE. Therefore, the JRE version of each product can be different.

  6. Continue following the wizard instructions and complete the CA EEM installation or upgrade.

Note: If you are upgrading, the default folder is \CA\SharedComponents\EmbeddedEntitlementsManager, not your existing CA EEM folder. Use the default folder.

  7. Install CA EEM on additional computers, one at a time, and proceed as follows:
    1. On each computer, specify the same password for the CA EEM administrator (EiamAdmin).
    2. When you are finished installing all instances of CA EEM, cluster them and configure them for failover protection and high availability.

Note: For instructions, see your CA EEM documentation.

You have installed CA EEM for use with CA Service Catalog. If you install CA Service Catalog on multiple computers, select the Use Remote Configuration option when you run the setup utility.

Note: For more instructions to configure and use CA EEM, see the Integration Guide.
