Sample Service

This scenario uses a sample fictitious service named New Tablet Computer for illustration. Use this sample as a model to localize your custom services.

This scenario assumes that the service, folders, service option groups, and other supporting elements are already created in English. Therefore, your main task in this scenario is to set the localization attributes of these elements to language-specific values. This scenario uses Spanish, German, and Japanese for illustration.

The following elements are assumed to be already created in English:

Localization Icon

You click the localization icon of an element to set its localization attributes. The localization icon typically appears at the end of the field or associated heading. When you click this icon, the Localization Values dialog appears, as noted in the procedures in this scenario.

You can optionally replace the default icon with another icon. The path name is USM_HOME\view\webapps\usm\images\localization_16.png.

USM_HOME is the documentation convention that specifies the local CA Service Catalog installation directory. For 32-bit computers, the default path name is C:\Program Files\CA\Service Catalog. For 64-bit computers, the default path name is C:\Program Files (x86)\CA\Service Catalog for 32-bit installations or C:\Program Files\CA\Service Catalog for 64-bit installations.
