When you create or update a service or folder, you can optionally specify featured (related) services for it. This specification is useful when the user requesting a service or viewing a folder is likely to want to know about and consider requesting the related services. For example, when you create or update an "onboarding" service for new employees, you can optionally specify services for laptops, cell phones, and so forth, as related services. When new employees access the onboarding service in the catalog, they see links and summaries of the services to request laptops, cell phones, and other related items.
Note: Verify that the catalog is configured to display featured services, as follows: Select Catalog, Configuration, Request Management Configuration. For the Browse Catalog Layout option, specify Request View. Also, for the Access Control: Show General Information option, specify the applicable roles. Without these settings, featured services do not appear to users in the catalog, even after you complete the procedure that follows.
Follow these steps:
The Services tree appears and displays the folders containing services, organized hierarchically according to categories.
The services that you can specify as related services appear in the Catalog Tree on this tab.
Note: Selecting the box at the top of the tree specifies all services in the catalog as related services. Use this option with caution.
