Availability of a Service Option Group

When you add a new service option group, the values in the Date Available and Date Unavailable fields are important. These values affect when a folder or service appears in the catalog for users to select, as follows:

• The date and time for the user setting these values can be the same (or earlier) date and time as the Service View server. In that case, the change takes place immediately.
• Conversely, the date and time for the user setting these values can be later than the date and time on the Service View server. In that case, the availability of the folder or service is not affected until Service View runs its catalog management logic. This logic typically runs at midnight but also runs when the Service View service is restarted.
