Services can be contained in a folder structure. Folders can also be organized into a hierarchy of folders.
To add a new folder
The Services page appears. It displays the folders containing services, organized hierarchically according to category.
Note: To add a new folder at the service provider (top) level, click the plus sign without expanding the tree.
The Folder Details dialog appears.
The Folder Details dialog is set for a new folder (rather than a new service).
Your specifications are recorded.
The folder is saved.
You have added the folder to the catalog.
When you add a new folder, the Folder Details dialog for a new folder appears. You complete these fields as part of creating the folder. Adding a new service is a related but unique task that displays a similar dialog, the Folder Details dialog for a new service.
The following fields on the Folder Details dialog for a new folder require explanation:
Specifies the type: Service or Folder.
Select Folder, because you are adding a new folder.
Displays the date the folder was created. This field is read-only.
Note: The date and time shown are based on the time zone on the Service View server. The same is true for the date fields that follow.
The dates and times you enter in the date fields that follow affect the availability of the folder to catalog users.
Specifies the date when catalog users can request or subscribe to the services in the folder.
Specifies the date when catalog users can no longer request or subscribe to the services in the folder.
Specifies the version number of the service.
Enter the value in the format of major.minor.
Specifies a value of 1000 or greater.
Note: The values from 0 to 999 are reserved.
(Optional) Specifies any number.

Use the system or "global" setting to show or hide subfolders specified in the Browse Catalog: Show Subfolders parameter in the Request Management Configuration section of the Service Builder Configuration page.
If the value of the Browse Catalog: Show Subfolders parameter changes, all catalog folders that use the system setting are automatically updated accordingly.
Note: The Browse Catalog: Show Subfolders parameter and other Request Management Configuration settings are described in the Implementation Guide.
Specifies that this catalog folder always displays its subfolders in the Browse section of the Requests page, regardless of the value of the system setting.
Specifies that this catalog folder never displays its subfolders in the Browse section of the Requests page, regardless of the value of the system setting.
Hiding these subfolders is often helpful when the number of them is so high that the following condition exists: Users must scroll through the Browse Catalog several times to view them all or to see the remaining catalog folders and their subfolders
Default: Use System Setting.
Arranges the child folders or services according to the category you select.
Categories include Name, Selection Type, Code, Date Created, and so forth.
If you select Custom - use Sort Number, then the Catalog system uses the Sort Number field in the child service or folder.
The value of None provides no specific sort order.
Sorts the service according to the value you specify.
Note: This field applies only when the parent folder uses a setting of Custom - use Sort Number in the Sort Children By field.
Assigns an image to a folder.
Click Browse to select the image from the %USM_HOME%\FileStore\images\offerings folder.
The maximum recommended size for a folder image is 48 x 48 pixels.
Important! The folder name FileStore is case sensitive. Therefore, use the correct case in path names and all other programmatic references.
