How to Configure a Cisco UCS Blade for Provisioning

CA Server Automation provides the Provisioning wizard to use an existing or new service profile to provision a blade server.

To run the Provisioning wizard, right-click a Cisco UCS blade and select Provisioning, Provision UCS Blade.

To provision a blade

  1. Use the Service Profile page to select a UCS Manager where the desired service profile resides, or select a service template and name a new service profile.
  2. On the Blade page, select a specific chassis and blade, or select Automatically select first available blade for expedited handling. If NetApp storage integration is configured and the selected service profile or template has vHBA defined, an Add Storage button provides storage provisioning.
  3. On the Imaging page, select the specific provisioning characteristics (Software Delivery or Rapid Server Imaging), servers, and authorizations.
  4. Review the Summary page, and click Add Computer.
