Trap Community Table

You can view currently configured access communities and other SNMP-specific configuration information in the Trap Community table.

Class: trapCommunityEntry

Instance: value of tcDestinationAddr and tcDestinationPort attributes for the specific trap destination and port

You can edit these settings from the CA Virtual Assurance user interface.

The table contains information supporting SNMPv1, SNMPv2, and SNMPv3, depending on which version you are running. The following columns are available in the Trap Community table:

SNMP version (tcSnmpVersion)

Specifies the SNMP version being used.

Trap communication type (tcMessageType)

Specifies the communication type. This column displays Trap for SNMPv1 or Notification for SNMPv2 and SNMPv3.

Destination host (tcDestinationAddr)

Specifies the host name or IP address of the trap destination.

Destination port (tcDestinationPort)

Specifies the port on the destination host.

Trap community (tcCommunityName)

Specifies the community name. In SNMPv3, this column specifies the username access point.

Trap context (tcContextInfo)

Specifies the trap context for SNMPv2 and SNMPv3.

Trap notification timeout (tcNotifyTimeout)

(SNMPv2 and SNMPv3 only) Specifies the timeout interval for trap notifications.

Trap notification retries (tcNotifyRetries)

(SNMPv2 and SNMPv3 only) Specifies the number of trap notification retries to send.

Trap source (tcSourceAddr)

Specifies the source address to send with traps or notifications.

Trap encoding (tcEncoding)

Specifies the encoding to use when sending trap sources addresses.
