How to Upgrade a JBoss Cluster Implementation

A load-balanced server cluster provides scalability and high availability for the CA RCM and Workpoint servers in high-volume production environments.

To upgrade CA RCM server components on a JBoss cluster, follow these steps:

  1. Run the CA RCM server application installer to create a reference installation of CA RCM and Workpoint server applications on a Windows computer.
  2. Copy upgraded files from the CA RCM reference installation to a server in the cluster.
  3. Upgrade configuration settings on the server.
  4. Copy the image of the updated server to the other servers in the cluster.
  5. Verify successful installation.
  6. Import Workpoint processes.

Note: You do not run CA RCM from the reference installation you create in step 1. You can remove CA RCM components from this computer after you create the JBoss cluster server image.
