How to Install CA RCM Server and Workpoint Server on Different Computers

This section describes how to install a CA RCM server on a Windows computer that references a Workpoint server on another Windows computer.

You run the CA RCM installer twice. First you run the CA RCM installer on the Workpoint server computer to install Workpoint and configure it to work with CA RCM. Then you install the CA RCM server on its own computer, specifying the new Workpoint instance.

To install CA RCM and Workpoint server on different computers, follow these steps:

  1. Install Workpoint server on a designated computer.
  2. Install the CA RCM server on a separate computer.
  3. Configure CA RCM server to work with a remote Workpoint server.
  4. Verify successful installation.
  5. Import Workpoint processes.
  6. Configure SSL communication.
