How CA PMO Optimizes Program Management Searches

CA PMO optimizes Program Management searches by replacing DASD I/O searches with in-storage searches of the managed list and hash tables. The CA PMO search sequence depends on the parameters that you specified when installing and tuning it. The search sequence described in this section assumes the following:

• CA PMO manages all JOB/STEP/TASK libraries in hash tables.
• CA PMO manages all LNKLST libraries in the managed list.
• CA PMO creates entries in the managed list both for LNKLST members that were found and for those that were not found (that is, you specified the parameter RETNF=YES).

When CA PMO operates under these assumptions, it eliminates virtually all DASD I/O for private library directory searches.
