D4: LNKLST Library Searches – Detailed

The D4 display describes searches of LNKLST library directories, as opposed to BLDL/FIND requests. See the section D2: BLDL/FIND Request Activity in this chapter for information on the difference between library directory searches and BLDL/FIND requests.

The following screen illustrates a sample D4 display.

Primary Column Headings

The primary headings on the D4 display are described in the following:

Library Name

The name of the library. The number to the left of the name is also shown in the LIB column of the D1 display. An index may precede the library name on the ********** line:

E

You specified the EXCLLNK parameter or the F PMO,EXCLLNK command to exclude the library from the managed list, or you specified INCLLNK parameter statements, but did not code this library on any of those statements.

P

This library is a PDSE-type library.

S

This library has been suspended from refreshes.

Volser

The serial number of the volume that contains the library.

Total Searches

All searches against this library since CA PMO became active.

Elap Time Savings

The elapsed time that the managed list saved on directory searches of LNKLST libraries. For more information, see the description of Elap Time Savings earlier in this chapter. If you see three asterisks (***), CA PMO did not save any elapsed time.

Secondary Column Headings

The secondary headings on the D4 display are described in the following:

Fnd or Pct

The percentage of searches in which the member was found.

To estimate the number of these searches, multiply this percentage by the number of total searches and divide the result by 100. For information on how CA PMO counts and categorizes searches, see the discussion of the Count column heading earlier in this chapter.

Nfnd

The percentage of searches in which the member was not found. This value is displayed only if LLA is inactive.

To estimate the number of these searches, multiply this percentage by the number of total searches, and divide the result by 100. For information on how CA PMO counts and categorizes searches, see the discussion of the Count column heading earlier in this chapter.

Avg ET

The average time needed to resolve a directory search for this library. For more information on this topic, see the discussion of the Avg Elap Time field earlier in this chapter.

Row Headings

The row headings on the D4 display are described in the following list:

Managed List

Searches of LNKLST library directories that the managed list resolved.

LLA

Searches of LNKLST library directories that LLA resolved.

I/O

Searches of LNKLST library directories resolved by DASD I/O.
