D1: PMO Managed List

The D1 display shows the current status and contents of the managed list. The following screen illustrates a sample D1 display:

Primary Headings

The primary headings on the D1 display are described in the following:

Maximum Entries

The largest number of entries that you allow CA PMO to have in the managed list. You specify this number by providing a value for the MLSIZE parameter.

Entries in Use

The number of entries currently in the managed list. When a member with a managed list entry is updated, CA PMO deletes its entry. This decreases the number of entries in use by one. The next time CA PMO sorts the managed list, it reuses the space occupied by the deleted entries.

Number of Sorts Done

The number of times that CA PMO has sorted the managed list since it became active or since you reset CA PMO statistics with the F PMO,RESET command. If CA PMO is sorting the list more than once every ten minutes during peak periods, consider increasing the size of the list. To do this, you specify a larger value for the MLSIZE parameter.

Least Time Between Sorts

The shortest time between two sorts since CA PMO became active, or since you reset CA PMO statistics with the F PMO,RESET command. If this figure is less than seven minutes, consider increasing the size of the managed list. To do this, you specify a larger value for the MLSIZE parameter.

Column Headings

The column headings on the D1 display are described in the following list:

Name

The name of a member in the managed list. An asterisk (*) or minus sign (-) might precede the name:

*

The member is a re-entrant load module that you can put in the LPA.

-

The member was not found during a previous search of the LNKLST. CA PMO creates entries of this kind if you specify the parameter RETNF=YES. This kind of entry eliminates LLA searches and DASD I/O searches for members that do not exist.

Note: If you are using a trial release of CA PMO, the member names are encoded. This is done to encourage you to use CA PMO as a long-term solution rather than as a short term tuning tool.

Lib

A code that indicates the library that the member belongs to:

The member is in a LNKLST library. The n is repeated on the D4 display, to allow you to look up the full name of the library.

The module was not found in the LNKLST. This kind of entry is created if you specify the parameter RETNF=YES.

Count

The number of directory searches for the member since it was added to the managed list. This figure includes the request that resulted in the member being managed by CA PMO.

How to Sort the D1 Display

To sort the list alphabetically by member name, type SA and press Enter. If you type SN (which is the default command) and press Enter, PMOMON sorts the list numerically by count. The SL command sorts by library index. To display the list according to the position of the members in the managed list, you specify a series of two commands. You first type S- and press Enter, then you type D1 and press Enter.
