Role Creation Concepts

These notes apply to both Role and Sub Role Creation

• Only System Administrators or Group Administrators can create new Roles.
• All Roles created can only have the permissions of the Role of the parent or more limited permissions. (See Role Rules for more Information.)

  When creating a Role you will only be able to assign permissions that your Role has access to.(If your Role can print, you can assign printing privileges to a Role you create.)

• All Roles you create will be sub Roles of your current Role, by default.

  If you create a sub Role for a Role you are not currently logged in as, you will need to use the create sub Role option.

  A sub Role is simply a Role that is a direct descendant of another Role. A sub Role can never have more permissions than the Role above it in the hierarchy. All Roles are a sub Role of some other Role, except the System Admin Role which is the top Role in the Role hierarchy.
