Role Authentication

Users of CA OM Web Viewer can be authenticated in two ways, LDAP or Mainframe Security.

Basic User type Roles can be authenticated with LDAP or Mainframe Security, depending on Role settings. All other Role types will require Mainframe Security.

Be aware of the following:

• A Role’s authentication method is controlled from the Role profile section of edit Role panel.
• You must select a Role Type of Basic User to change a Role authentication method from the default authentication method, which is mainframe authentication.
• If you choose LDAP authentication, you must supply both LDAP information and a profile (proxy mainframe account) for the Role.
• You can use automatic enrollment with an LDAP authenticated Role.
• Be aware that you did not have to select automatic enrollment from the Role panel for mainframe automatic enrollment.

  Mainframe automatic enrollment places mainframe security authenticated users into the Role named Default User. For more information, see Roles Included with CA Output Management Web Viewer.
